Harte-Hanks Launches ADQ Direct Online Marketing Portal

- Web portal provides do-it-yourself services for verifying, correcting and enhancing multichannel contact information -

GLEN BURNIE, Md., June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Harte-Hanks, Inc. (NYSE: HHS), a worldwide, direct and targeted marketing company, today announced the availability of ADQ Direct(TM), an online portal that leverages the strength of Harte-Hanks Advanced Data Quality (ADQ), a service for verifying, correcting and enhancing multichannel contact information of customers and prospects. ADQ Direct provides all of the functionality and flexibility of ADQ through an easy-to-use Web interface that gives Harte-Hanks clients rapid access to sophisticated data quality and enhancement capabilities in a self-service environment.

By design, ADQ Direct enables companies to enhance the quality of their data to support the delivery of marketing and relationship communications across all media channels, such as direct mail, phone and e-mail. The Web-based data quality solution offers users the ability to increase the accuracy of their customer views, while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations, best practices and self-governing mandates. And because it delivers high quality contact information, ADQ Direct enables more accurate analytics and segmentation to help companies enhance their customer knowledge.

"We've designed ADQ Direct for those companies seeking to optimize the accuracy of customer contact information within their internal data warehouses," said Kathy Calta, corporate officer and senior vice president, Harte-Hanks. "With this Web-based solution, our clients have access to what we believe to be an optimal combination of licensed postal products, proprietary data quality sources, and the best third-party sources commercially available, which provides them with current, accurate multichannel contact information.

We do all of this in a self-service environment available on demand." ADQ Direct's interface provides the do-it-yourself power, simplicity, and control that information technology (IT) and marketing professionals want, while providing an affordable, solid, low-risk foundation for customer and prospect relationship management.

How ADQ Direct Works
A client accesses the ADQ Direct Web site via secure log in, selects default or customized processing options, and uploads the data. Harte-Hanks Advanced Data Quality then cleanses and standardizes the data using an iterative process that combines several USPS(R) certified and licensed processes and proprietary processes, as well as a Harte-Hanks reference database, a repository that holds more than one billion U.S. name and address combinations. USPS services available through ADQ Direct include:

-- NCOALink(TM) to check for change of address

-- DPV(TM) (verifies accuracy of deliverable addresses)

-- Locatable Address Conversion System (LACS)

-- DSF2(TM) (identifies deliverable addresses and specific address attributes)

-- Carrier route codes to maximize postal discounts

-- CASS(TM) (USPS certification process for ZIP+4 matching software)

The entire process is completely automated through ADQ Direct. Once processing is complete, ADQ Direct delivers the cleansed data via FTP [File Transfer Protocol], along with a report that summarizes changes to the original list.

ADQ Direct provides:

-- Around-the-clock Data Quality Management Access: Online access to Advanced Data Quality, a powerful service for verifying, correcting and enhancing multichannel contact information, offered exclusively by Harte-Hanks

-- Convenient Default Settings: Subscription features that enable clients to create default settings for "hands-free" list processing (for example, sign up to have lists processed daily, weekly or monthly -
whichever works best for the client - and ADQ Direct handles the rest, sending e-mail notifications when processing is complete)

-- Speed: Faster turnaround to support inline processing and near-real-
time applications

-- Speed: Easy start-up with minimal set-up time and no up-front costs

-- Privacy Adherence: Respect for consumers' industry-wide Do Not Call/Do Not Mail requests when coupled with Harte-Hanks SuppressMAX, which also eliminates the addresses of the deceased, prisons and foreign post offices.
