Ask TBC: When does mail in the blue boxes get picked up? (The Bakersfield Californian)

Q: The sooner I get a disc to Netflix, the sooner it will ship the next one to me. Is there any advantage to putting a piece of mail in a certain mailbox at a certain time? For example, at the main post office by the airport (on Pegasus Drive), do they collect the mail in those front boxes in the mornings? What about the downtown mailboxes? In other areas, I've seen multiple collection times ...

A former letter carrier pleaded guilty today to stealing mail from her route in Orange Beach, the same post office where a pair of drivers who were sentenced weekday failed to deliver more than 3,400 pieces of mail.

Pueblo postal workers prosecuted for mail theft (KOAA Colorado Springs - Pueblo)

Three postal workers in Pueblo who were caught stealing money from mail are being punished. According to the USPS Office of Inspector General the employees have been prosecuted. The Inspector General says on December 21, 2009 Nathan Valdez pled guilty to mail theft by an employee. Valdez is scheduled to be sentenced in March. The agency says Jerardo Robertson admitted to stealing gift cards from ...

Reduce postal delivery days - Sun, 07 Mar 2010 PST (The Spokesman-Review)

The Postal Service is now proposing adjustments to their delivery schedule, which may mean no mail service on Saturday. Bravo! About time. I think I can live with only five days of junk mail. As far as I’m concerned, they could deliver mail only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
